BUOY for wireless data transfer

NEW GENERATION BUOY
 

The new generation buoy is now available.
 

Improvements :

• Professional hard-plastic buoy with more buoyancy
• Smaller size and less weight, ideal to be taken into the water by the diver.
• Three waterproof connectors on the bottom side. These can be used for VIDEO, light or ( still in development) communication with the diver.
• Improved battery-pack and control PCB. For only 1 video attached the battery-pack can operate for more then 50 hours without recharging.
• Possible to apply a double battery-pack inside the buoy for extended operational time.
• Cable lenght from buoy to camera tested up to 30 meters without any quality loss. Longer lenghts are possible.
• Wireless tranmission (with small transmit antenna on buoy) tested up to 500 meters without any quality loss. Longer distances are possible. Test on land with larger antennas did reach 2000 meters line-of-sight without any quality loss.
   

On going developments:

• Communication between two divers through the buoy. (ideal for training and cources)
• Communication through the buoy of two divers and dive-supervisor on shore
• Video, communication and to shore and power supply for additional light for one diver
• Multiple video inputs (max 4) to buoy for interne data storage on DVR or direct video transfer to shore.
   

Applications: 

• Direct presentation of submerged images without any connection by cable. Usefull for inspection and observations)
• Fixed setup for observations of flora and fauna (plants and underwater animals) 
• Observations in difficult environments for divers, limitd space or strong currents.
• Long distance monitoring of underwater life (fish, corals) from observation site to ship.
• Training and cources for divers.

Due to the size and the weight of the buoy, the diver can deploy and recover the buoy very easily.
